angle (ACD + ACB) = 180° ----{linear pair}

therefore,

angle ACB = 180° - 100° = 80°

NOW,

angle ABC = angle ACB = 80°

-------------{since , given that AB = AC. so side opposite to angle are equal}

therefore,

angle ( A + B + C) = 180° ---(angle sum property of traingle)

angle (A + 80° + 80°) = 180°

angle (A + 160°) = 180°

angle A = 180° — 160°

angle A = 20°
