In the figure given below, AC is parallel to BD,

Yes, AE/CE = DE /BE.

the AC||BD and AD is transversal

- So, angle CAD=angle BDA

And now, BC is the transversal

- So, angle ACB=angle DBC

And in ΔAEC and ΔBED

angle AEC=angle BED......(verticaly opposite)

- angle CAD=angle BDA

angle ACB=angle DBC

- So,ΔAEC is congruent toΔBED

Therefore, AE/CE = DE /BE.
