In the fig. (i), AD=BC and AD || BC.Is AB=DC? Give reason to support your answer.

In ∆ABC & ∆CDA,

BC = AD (Given)

/_ ACB = /_CAD (Alternate Angle)

AC = AC (Common)

•°• ∆ABC Congruent to ∆CDA by SAS Congruent rule.

Therefore, AB = DC(Corresponding part of Congruent triangle or CPCT)
