Hi,

Here is your answer

Given:

Line l is parallel to line m

To Find:

The value of x

Solution:

First let us find the value of y

2y+25=3y(Since they are alternate interior angles, they are equal)

3y-2y=25

y=25

2y+25=x+15(Since they are vertically opposite angles, they are equal)

Substituting the value of y, we get

2×25+25=x+15

x=75-15

x=60

Notes:

1. Vertically opposite angles are equal

2. When  a pair of parallel lines are given,

  • Co-interior anles are supplementary
  • Alternate interior angles are equal

Hope this helps you.

Answer: x = 60°

3y = 2y +25 ( alternate interior angles are equal between two parallels )

y = 25

[180- (2y+25)] + (x+15) = 180°

(sum of linear angles)

180 - 2(25) - 25 + x + 15 = 180°

x = 60°
