in the figure a b and cd are two chords of circle with centre o at distances of 6 cm and 8 cm respectively from is the radius of the circle is 10 centimetre find the length of the chords

If we draw 2 lines(radius)from O to B and D,then BOP and DOQ will be 2 right angled triangles,so ,in BOP,OB=10(radius),OP=6(perpendicular distance)so BP=√[(10^2)-(6^2)]=8
We know that,AP=BP,so AB=BP+AP=8+8=16cm

Likewise,we can also get,CD=12 cm
