In the figure a particle moves along a circular path of radius r and centre C. Diameter AB is perpendicular to radius UC. If it starts from U and goes in the anticlockwise direction then find the distance and displacement of the particle at point A.

Distance=2pier/4

               =pie r/2

Displacement= \sqrt{2r^{2} }

                =2r
