in the figure, AB=DE, AC=CE, and C is the midpoint of BD.

a) Are the triangles equal? why?
b) prove that AB and DE are parallel?

yes triangles are equal i.e. abc = cde

ab = de

AB=CD [Given]

∠B=∠D [Angles in the same segment]

∠A=∠C [Angles in the same segment]

∴△EAB≅△ECD [ASA criteria]

∴BE=DE [CPCT]

and AE=CE [CPCT]
