Given :- In the figure AB is diameter. PC is perpendicular to AB. PC = 6cm, OP = 3cm . find the radius of the semicircle ?

Solution :-

from image,

→ PC = 6 cm. (given)

→ OP = 3 cm. (given.)

→ CP ⟂ AB. (given.)

Let us assume that, radius of semi - circle is r cm.

then,

→ OC² = OP² + PC² (by pythagoras theorem.)

→ r² = 3² + 6²

→ r² = 9 + 36

→ r² = 45

→ r = √(45)

r = 3√5 cm.

Hence, radius of semi-circle is 35 cm.
