Angle BAD = Angle ADC = 53°

(because alternate interior angles)

In ECD,

x° + 38° + 53° = 180°

x° = 180° - 91°

x° = 89°

Answer:

Given: <BAD = 53°. ,. <DCE = 38°

As ,. AB || CD

<BAD = < CDE....... Alternate angles are equal

Therefore,. <CDE = 53°

In ∆CDE

< CDE + <DEC + < ECD=180°.. Angle sum property

of a triangle

53° + x + 38° = 180°

x = 180° - (53°+38°)

x = 180° - 91°

x = 89°
