In the figure, ABCD and BPQD are squares. AB I metre(a) What is the area of the square BPQD?(b) What is the length of BD?​

Given : ABCD is a square

BPQD is a square

AB = 1 m

To Find : Length of BD

Area of Square BPQD

Solution:

All the sides of a square are equal

and all the angles are right angles

Diagonal of square = √2 * side of square

Area of square = (side)²

ABCD is a square

AB = 1 m

=> AB = BC = CD = AD = 1 m

AC and BD are diagonals

Hence AC = BD = √2 m

Length of BD √2  m

BPQD is a square

BP = PQ = QD = BD = √2 m

Area of square BPQD = (√2)²  m²

=> Area of square BPQD = 2  m²

area of the square BPQD​ is 2  m²
