in the figure AC is equal to 24 cm BC is equal to 10 cm and O is the centre of the circle find the area of shaded region.

AB^2=AC^2+BC^2

AC=24 and BC=10

AB^2=24^2+10^2

AB^2=676

AB=26

AB is the diameter and

Radius=\frac{Diameter}{2}

Radius=\frac{26}{2}=13

Area of shaded region=Area of semicircle- area of triangle ACB

Area=\frac{\pi\cdot r^2}{2}-\frac{1}{2}\cdot\text{base}\cdot\text{height}

Area=\frac{\frac{22}{7}\cdot 13^2}{2}-\frac{1}{2}\cdot 10\cdot 24

Area=265.57-120

\Rightarrow Area=145.57cm^2 is the area of shaded region.
