In the figure, AC = XD. C is the mid-point of AB and D is the mid-point of XY. Using an Euclid’s axiom, show that AB = XY.

I dont know how to copy a figure... :(

Answer:

AB = XY

Step-by-step explanation:

C is the mid-point of line segment AB, AB = 2AC.

Also,D is the mid-point of line segment XY.

XY = 2XD

XY = 2AC (∵ XD = AC).

By Euclid's sixth axiom, things we are doubles of same thing are equal to one another, we have

AB = XY.
