  2. angle ADB = angle ADC = 90°.....common angle
  3. AD = AD......common side
  4. therefore,
  5. ∆ ADB is congruent to ∆ ADC by side angle side test of congruence
  6. AB = AC........congruent parts of congruent triangles....from 5
