The main method is the angle sum property of the triangle.

In upper triangle we will find the y and then find p so that we can apply the angle sum property of triangle.

In triangle PQS.

y + 3y + 80° = 180°

4y = 180° - 80°

4y = 100°

y = 100°/4

y= 25°

angle Q = x + 25°

angle p = 75°

angle R = 40°

In triangle PQR

x + 25 ° + 75° + 40° = 180°

x + 140° = 180°

x = 180° -140°

x = 40°
