In the figure, AP || BQ || CR. Prove that ar(∆AQC) = ar(∆PBR).

Answer:

AP∣∣BQ∣∣CP

To prove:

Ar(AQC)=Ar(PBR)

Since, ΔABQ and ΔPBQ

lies on same base BQ and are between parallel line BQ and AP

∴Ar(ABQ)=Ar(PBQ) ………..(1)

Also, ΔCBQ and ΔRBQ

lies on same base BQ

and are between parallel lines BQ and CR

∴Ar(CBQ)=Ar(RBQ) ……….(2)

add equation (1) and (2)

Ar(ABQ)+Ar(CBQ)=Ar(PBQ)+Ar(RBQ)

Ar(AQC)=Ar(PBR)

Hence proved.
