In the figure APB and CQD are semicircles of diameter 7cm each while ARC and BSD are semicircles of Diameter 14 cm each .Find the area of the shaded region.(Use Pi as 3.14)

Step-by-step explanation:

Area of the semi-circle BSD whose radius is 7 cm, is

= πr²/2

= 3.14 ×7×7/2

=76.93 cm²

similarly , Area of semi-circle ARC is same because of same radius.

Now,In semi-circle APB of radius 3.5 cm is ,

πr²/2

= 3.14 ×3.5 ×3.5/2

= 19.23 cm²

similarly ,area of semi-circle CQD is same because of same radius.

Hence, Area of shaded region = area of ARC - area of APB + area of BSD - area of CQD

= 76.93 - 19.23 +76.93 - 19.23

= 57.7 cm²
