The area of

i) parallelogram PMNQ = 240 cm^{2}

ii) triangle PMQ = 120 cm^{2}

Step-by-step explanation:

The figure is attached below:

As we know that

1. The area of parallelogram is

= {base\times{height}

That is 240 cm^{2} of LMNO parallelogram

Now the area of parallelogram PMNQ is also 240 cm^{2} due to the same base and the height. The base is PM and the height is the perpendicular distance between parallels lines i.e MN and LQ

2. Moreover, the area of the triangle is

=  \frac{1}{2}\times{base\times{height}

So, it also equal to the area of parallelogram PMNQ due to the same base and the height. The base is PQ and the height is the perpendicular distance between parallels lines i.e PM and NQ

So, the area of triangle of PMQ is

= \frac{1}{2}\times 240cm^{2}

=  120 cm^{2}
