In the figure at the right, line AB is the diameter of the circle, and AC = BC. What is the area of the shaded region?

Area of shaded region

= 1/2(Area of semicircle - Area of triangle)

= 1/2(1/2(πr²)- 1/2(base×height)

*AB is diameter which means it's midst point is centre

=> height of triangle = distance between centre and point C

=>Area of shaded region

= 1/2((1/2×22/7×5×5)-(1/2×10×5))

=1/2((275/7)-(25))

=1/2×100/7

=50/7 unit²
