Answer

  • Area of the shaded region is 100 unit²

Explanation

Given

  • We are given a square of side 10 units
  • And some part of it is shaded

To Find

  • Area of the shaded region

Solution

Area of Square

→ Area(Square) = Side²

→ Area(Square) = 10²

→ Area(Square) = 100 unit²

Area of the sector inside the square

→ Area of sector = θ/360 × πr²

  • θ = 90° (Angles in a square are 90°)
  • r = 10 units

→ 90/360 × π × 10²

→ 1/4 × 3.14 × 100

→ 1/4 × 314

→ 78.5 unit²

Area of shaded region inside the square

→ Area(Shaded) = 100-78.5

→ Area(Shaded-Inside square) = 21.5 unit²

Area of sector outside the circuit

→ Area of sector = θ/360 × πr²

  • θ = 90°
  • r = 10 units

→ 90/360 × π × 10²

→ 1/4 × 3.14 × 100

→ 1/4 × 314

→ 78.5 unit²

Total area of the shaded region

→ 21.5+78.5

→ 100 unit²
