Area of the square = side×Side

= 7×7

= 49 cm square

Area of the sector =

Theta/360 × π × r × r

Theta = 90°

90°/360° × 22/7 × 7 × 7

=> 1/4 × 22 × 7

=> 1/2 × 11 × 7

=> 11/2 × 7

=> 77/2

=> 33.5 cm square

Area of the shaded region =

49 –33.5

=> 15.5 cm square
