then the exterior angle so formed

is equal to the sum of two interior

opposite angles .

1 ) from figure ( i ) ,

y° = <A + <C

=> y° = 50° + 30°

=> y° = 80°

2 ) From figure ( ii ) ,

x° = y° + 55°

=> x° = 80° + 55°

=> x° = 135°

Therefore ,

y° = 80° , x° = 135°
