In the figure given above | ABCD is a square of side 50 m. Points
P, Q, R, S are midpoints of side AB, side BC, side CD, side AD
respectively. Find area of shaded region.

Explanation:

Area of shaded region= Area of sq.–(4×Area of each quadrant)

So,

Area of sq.=a²= 50×50=2500sq. m

Area of 1 quadrant= θ/360°×πr²

=90°/360°×3.14×(25)²

Area of 4 quadrants =4× Area of 1 quad.

=4×90°/360°×3.14×625

=3.14×625

=1962.5 sq. m

Now,

Area of shaded region=2500–1962.5

=537.5 sq. m
