Perimeter of trapezium FBCE = FB + BC + CE + EF

= 3 + 4.8 + 2.8 + 2.4 = 13 cm.

Perimeter of triangle DEF = DE + EF + FD

= 3 + 2.4 + 2.8 = 8.2 cm

or

perimeter of triangle DEF = 1/2 Perimeter of triangle ABC.

=1/2 ( 6 + 4.8 + 5.6 ) =1/2( 16.4 ) = 8.2 cm.

Mid point theorem : The line segment joining the mid points of two sides of a triangle is parallel to the 3rd side and half of it.
