Answer:

The Length of AE is 2 cm.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

DE || BC, AD = 2.4 cm, DB = 3.6 cm , AC = 5 cm

In ΔABC, DE || BC,

According to BASIC PROPORTIONALITY THEOREM (BPT) :

If a line is drawn parallel to one side of a triangle to intersect the other two sides in distinct points then the other two sides are divided in the same ratio.

AD/AB = AE/AC

AD/(AD + DB) = AE/AC

2.4/(2.4 + 3.6) = AE/5

AE/5 = 2.4/6

6AE = 2.4 × 5

6 AE = 12

AE = 12/6

AE = 2 cm

Hence, the Length of AE is 2 cm.
