Step-by-step explanation:

area of triangle ABC = 1/2 × base × height = 35 cm^2

1/2 × base × 5 = 35

1/2 × base = 35/5

1/2 × base = 7

base = 2 × 7

base = 14cm

AB = 14cm

area of semicircle =

 \frac{\pi {r}^{2} }{2}

radius is half of AB

radius is 7cm

area = (22/7 × 7 ×7) ÷ 2

area = (22 × 7) × 1/2

area = 11 × 7 = 77cm^2

area of shaded region = area of semicircle - area of triangle ABC

area of shaded region = 77 - 35

= 42 cm^2
