In the figure,Δ is right-angled at B. If AB = 9 cm, AC = 15 cm and D, E are the mid – points of the sides of AB and AC respectively, then calculate
(i) the length of AC
(ii) the area of Δ

ABC is a right angle triangle. whose side
AB = 9 cm ; AC = 15 cm;
therefore, BC = √(15² - 9²) = 12 cm.
area of this right angle triangle =
½* BC * AB
= ½* 12* 9
= 54 cm².
