So, AD and RE are the transversals.

Angle BAD =Angle ADE [ Alternate Interior angles]

Angle ADE = 70°

Using Angle Sum property in triangle DRE,

40° + 70° + DRE = 180°

DRE = 180° - 110°

ARD forms a linear pair.

Angle DRE + Angle ARE = 180°

70° + ARE = 180°

ARE = 180° - 70 °
