Answer: 8 cm .

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that MN║BC

So ∠AMN = ∠ABC (Corresponding Angles)

∠ANM = ∠ACB (Corresponding Angles)

∠MAN = ∠MAN (Common)

So we can say ΔAMN ≈ ΔABC .

Hence by similarity , \frac{AM}{AN} = \frac{AB}{AC}

We know AM = 5 cm , AN = 10 cm , NC = 16 cm .

So AC = AN + NC = (10 + 16) = 26 cm .

Hence \frac{5}{10} = \frac{AB}{26}

=> AB = \frac{26*5}{10}

=> AB = 13 cm .

Hence MB = AB - AM = (13 - 5) = 8 cm .

Hope this helps you .
