Gɪᴠᴇɴ :-

  • PQ ll RS , I is a transversal line .

Tᴏ Fɪɴᴅ :-

  • Value of x ?

ᴄᴏɴᴄᴇᴘᴛ ᴜsᴇᴅ :-

Alternate Interior Angles :- When two lines are crossed by another line (the Transversal), a pair of angles :-

  • on the inner side of each of those two lines .
  • But on opposite sides of the transversal.

are called Alternate Interior Angles.

Alternate Interior Angles Are Equal.

Sᴏʟᴜᴛɪᴏɴ :-

By Alternate Interior Angles Concept we can conclude That,

→ (x + 70°) = (2x + 30°)

→ 2x - x = 70° - 30°

x = 40° (Ans.)

Hence, Value of x will be 40°.

Additional Information :-

Angle sum property of a triangle : The sum of all the three angles of a triangle is equal to 180° .

Exterior angle property of a triangle : The exterior angle of a triangle is equal to the sum of two opposite interior angles .

When two parallel lines are cut by a transversal then ;

  • Corresponding angles are equal.
  • Alternate interior angles are equal.
  • Alternate exterior angles are equal.
  • Consecutive interior angles are supplementary.

Transversal line : It is a line which cut two other lines at two distinct points on the same plane.

Complementary angles : Two angles are said to be complementary, if their sum is 90° .

Supplementary angles : Two angles are said to be supplementary, if their sum is 180° .
