Since QS is a straight line .

Therefore,. angle ERQ +70 = 180. (linear pair)

angle ERQ = 110

Now , angle PRE = angle ERQ + angle QRP

= 110 + 30

= 140

Since angle DPR + angle PRE = 40+140 = 180

Therefore, DP is parallel to ER. as sum of co-interior angles DPR and PRE is equal to 180°
