since \: q \: and \: p \: parallel \\ (2x + 43) + (2x - 3) = 180(co \: interior \: angle) \\ 2x + 43 + 2x - 3 = 180 \\ 4x - 40 = 180 \\ 4x = 180 - 40 \\ x =  \frac{140}{4}  \\ x = 35
