ax = ab - bx

cy = bc-by (put bc=ab & bx = by)

= ab - bx

Given:

  • AB = BC
  • BX = BY

To Prove:

  • AX = CY

Solution:

We know that when equals are subtracted from equals, the remainders are Equal.

: AB = BC and BX = BY

\implies AB - BX = BC - BY

\implies AX = CY

Hence,

AX = CY.
