Let the volume of each smaller block is 1 cubic units.

Volume of smaller blocks will be added to calculate the volume of bigger block so formed.

Therefore, the figures having same number of smaller blocks will have the same volume.

Total volume = number of smaller cubes*volume of each smaller cube.

It is in the shape of cube and made of 8 smaller cubes.

Therefore, its volume is 8*1 cubic units = 8 cubic units.

Figure 2, Figure 3 and Figure 4 all have 12 cubes.

Volume = 12*1 cubic units = 12 cubic units.
