DC || AB , so

angle CAB =angle ACB. ( alternate interior angles)

also

angle CAD = angle ACB ( AD = CD so , angles opposite to equal sides of a triangle are equal)

from above .

angle CAD =angle CAB -1

now angle CAD +angle CAB = 90 ( angles of a square)

angle CAD + angle CAD = 90. ( using eq 1)

2 angle CAD = 90

angle CAD = 45
