In the first figure, area of one square is 0.5 cm × 0.5 cm = 0.25 cm2
.
Area of circle = no. of squares counted × 0.25 cm2
= 3cm2
.
In the second figure, area of one square is 0.2 cm × 0.2 cm = 0.04 cm2
.
Area of circle = no. of squares counted × 0.04 cm2
= 11.12cm2
.
Theoretical value,
Area of circle = πr2
= 3.14 × r = 6.28cm2
.
Compare the above two values with the theoretical value and interpret the findings.
