as,in the given figure ;
A(∆ABC)= 1/2×base× height..
= 1/2× AB× BC
= 1/2× b × 4= 2b( here ,b refers to base).
A(∆ABD)= 1/2× AB× AD
= 1/2×b× 12= 6b.
and there ratio is A(∆ABC) /A( ∆ ABD)
= 2b/6b= 1/3...1:3(ans).
