side = 20cm (all sides of a square are equal)

Area of square=S*S

=20*20

=400cm²

area of triangle EBC= 1/2*b*h

=1/2*10*20

=5*20

=100cm²

area of triangle AFE=1/2*b*h

=1/2*10*10

=5*10

=50cm²

area of triangle FDC=1/2*b*h (we know that all sides of a square are equal)

=1/2*10*20

=5*20

=100cm²

=area of square-(area of FDC+area of AFE+area of FDC)

=400-(100+50+100)

=400-250

=150cm²

hence the area of the shaded region is 150cm²
