Step-by-step explanation:

c°= 110° (corresponding angles are equal)

now, a°+c°=180°

a°+110°=180°

a=180°-110°

a°=70°

now a°+40°+x=180° (angle sum property of triangle)

70°+40°+x=180°

110°+x=180°

x=180-110°

x=70°

now, x°+b°=180°

70°+b=180°

b=180°-70°

b=110°

values of and b are 70°and 110°

Given :   l || m

To Find : the unknown angles a and b

Solution:

∠c  = 110°    corresponding  angles

∠c + ∠a  = 180°   Linear Pair

=> 110° + ∠a  = 180°

=>  ∠a  = 70°

∠b = ∠a + 40°   Exterior angle of a triangle = Sum of opposite two interior angles

=> ∠b = 70°  + 40°

=> ∠b = 110°

∠a  = 70°    and  ∠b = 110°
