In the above question , the following information is given -

There are two triangles ABC and triangle BED overlapping each other .

Angle BAC is 40° , Angle ACB is 90° and Angle BED is 100°

To find -

Find angle BDE .

Solution -

Here , first let us consider triangle ABC .

Here ,

Angle BAC is 40° , Angle ACB is 90°

According to the angle sum property of a triangle, sum of all angles in a triangle is 180° .

So ,

Angle ABC = 180° - 40° - 90°

=> Angle ABC = 50°

Now , consider triangle BED .

Here ,

Angle ABC = 50° and angle BED is 100°

According to the angle sum property of a triangle, sum of all angles in a triangle is 180° .

So ,

x + 50° + 100° = 180°

=> x + 150° = 180°

=> x = 30°

Thus , the measure of angle BDE is 30° .

This is the required answer .

Answer:

In triangle AEF,

BED =

EFA +

EAF

EFA = 100 – 40 = 60o

CFD =

EFA (vertical opposite angles)

= 60o

In triangle CFD, we have

CFD +

FCD +

CDF = 180o

CDF = 180o – 90o – 60o

= 30o

So,

BDE = 30°
