Solution :
•Consider Basic proportionality therorm,
If a line is drawn parallel to one side of a triangle to intersect the
other two sides in distinct points, the other two sides are divided in the same
ratio
•Hence in Given Figure ,
BE || AD ( segments of parallel lines)
•By , Basic proportionality therorm
=> EF/ED = BC/AB
= > 4/6 = BC/AB
=> AB = 3 BC /2
•Also , AB + BC = 18
3/2 BC + BC = 18
5BC/2 = 18
BC = 36/5
BC = 7.2 cm
AB = 10.8 cm
•Hence BC = 7.2 cm & AB = 10.8 cm
