In the following figure, PA and PB are two tangents drawn to a circle with centre 0, from an external
point P such that PA = 5 cm and <APB = 60°. Find the length of chord AB.

AB = 5CM.

PA = PB(EQUAL TANGENTS).

5CM = PA = PB.

angle b = angle a.(base angles).

60° + a + b = 180°(Angle sum property).

120° = 2(a).

a = 60°.

a = b = c = 60°.

it is an equilateral triangle(all angles equal).

AB = PA = BP.

AB = 5CM...
