In the following figure PQRS is a quadrilateral such that diagonals QS is perpendicular to SR as well as QS is perpendicular to PQ. Find out the area of quadrilateral PQRS.​

Area of quadrilateral PQRS is 40cm

In given figure

PQ⊥QR , SR⊥QR

so ΔPQR and ΔSRQ is both right angled triangle

Now , area of ΔPQR = 1/2×QR×PQ

                                 = 1/2×8×5

                                = 20cm

       area of ΔSRQ = 1/2×QR×SR

                               =1/2×8×5

                               = 20cm

now , area of quad.PQRS = area of ΔPQR + area of ΔSRQ

                                           = 20 + 20

                                           = 40cm
