Solution :-

given that, two straight lines AB and CD are intersecting each other at the point O .

and,

→ ∠BOD = 62°

Since, CD is a straight line .

So,

→ ∠x + ∠BOD = 180° { Linear pair }

→ ∠x + 62° = 180°

→ ∠x = 118°

now,

→ ∠y = ∠BOD { Vertically opposite angles }

→ ∠y = 62°

therefore,

→ ∠x - ∠y = 118° - 62°

→ ∠x - ∠y = 56° (Ans.)
