cross multiply a1/a2 aka k/9 and b1/b2 aka 4/k..

you would get k.square=36 and do the math u get k=6

azadharsh: but why for infinetely many sloutions we use a1 by a2=b1 by b2 =c1 by c2
azadharsh: answer should be 4 and 9

here is your answer

kx+4y=16

x= 2 , y= 2

k*2 + 4y = 16

2k + 4*2 = 16

2k = 16-8

2k = 8

k=8/2= 4

9x +ky= 36

x= 4, y= 1

9*4 +k*1 = 36

36 +k = 36

k = 36-36 =0

hope it helps
