In the following question, two statements- one assertion (A) and the other reason (R) are given. Select the correct option that best describes the two statements.
Assertion (A): The particles of suspension settle down when left
undisturbed.
Reason (R): The particles size in suspension is larger than 100 nm and the
particle interaction is not strong enough to keep the particles suspended.

a) Both assertion and reason are correct and reason is the correct explanation of assertion
b) Both assertion and reason are correct and reason is the incorrect explanation of assertion
c) Assertion is correct but reason is incorrect

Option ( a ) is correct.

Suspension is a heterogenous mixture in which solute particles size is larger than 100 nm. Also , their particles interaction is not enough strong to keep them suspended by attraction and repulsion as happens in colloids.
