X is Ethane as

1.the reducing agent used Red P and HI are very strong reducing agents.

2.They directly eliminates  any oxygen or halogen present in the compound to give alkanes.

3. Here also the the reducing agent will break the bond with the oxygen atom to give pure alkanes.
