The major product of the given reaction is (c) 3,3-dimethyl butan-2-ol

- the given reaction is acidic hydrolysis of 3,3-dimethy but-1-ene

-it takes place according to markonikov's rule

- the negative part OH- attaches to the 2nd carbon which has lesser no of H atoms (only one hydrogen)

- the positive part H+ attaches to the 1st carbon atom which has greater no of H atoms ( 2 hydrogen atoms)

- so the major product of the following reaction is 3,3-dimethyl butan-2-ol along with some minor products also

         CH₃                                                              CH₃

H₃C - C - CH = CH₂ □(→┴H₂O/H⁺)    ------>  H₃C - C  -  CH - CH₃
