and on each trunk there are 10 branches,

trunk with 10 branches

and on each branch there are 10 twigs,

branch with 10 twigs

and on each twig there are 10 leaves:

One day a woodcutter came along and cut down one trunk from the tree.
Then he cut off one branch from another trunk of the tree.
Then he cut off one twig from another branch.
Finally, he pulled one leaf from another twig.

How many leaves were left on the tree then?
How did you work out the solution?

Answer:

8889 leaves (hope it will help u )

Step-by-step explanation:

one trunk = 10 branches x 10 twigs x 10 leaves

= 1000 leaves

one branch = 10 twigs x 10 leaves

= 100 leaves

one twig = 10 leaves

at last = 1 leaf

Add all = 1000 + 100 +10 + 1 = 1111 leaves

total leaves = 10 trunk x 10 branches x 10 twigs x 10 leaves

= 10000 leaves

left over leaves = 10000 - 1111

= 8889 leaves
