In the given circle, O is the centre of the circle, DB is diameter and AOB = 120°. Find the measure of angle ADB and angle ACB.

Given:

To Find:

Find the measure of angle ADB and angle ACB.

Solution:

It is given that the DB is the diameter of the circle and the angle of AOB is 120, if we observe the circle carefully we can see that arc AB is making two angles ADB and ACB and is also making a central angle AOB.

We should know that if an arc is making any angle at the circumference of the circle then the angle it makes at the centre of the circle will be double of what it makes at the circumference of the circle.

So the measure of angle ADB and ACB will be half of what is the measure of angle AOB, so we can say that,

\angle ADB=\angle ACB=\frac{\angle AOB}{2} \\=\frac{120}{2}\\=60^{\circ}

Hence, the measure of angles ADB and ACB is 60 degrees.
