Given :- In the given circle with center O, PT = 12 cm, PA = 3cm, PC = 4cm .

To Find :- PB + PD .

Solution :- (Refer to image also .)

Using secant - tangent theorem we get,

→ PT² = PC * PD = PA * PB

putting values we get,

→ (12)² = 4 * PD

→ PD = 144/4

→ PD = 36 cm .

and,

→ (12)² = 3 * PB

→ PB = 144/3

→ PB = 48 cm .

therefore,

→ PB + PD = 48 + 36 = 84 cm (Ans.)
