Given :- In the given circle with center O, PT = 12 cm, PA = 3cm, PC = 4cm .
To Find :- PB + PD .
Solution :- (Refer to image also .)
Using secant - tangent theorem we get,
→ PT² = PC * PD = PA * PB
putting values we get,
→ (12)² = 4 * PD
→ PD = 144/4
→ PD = 36 cm .
and,
→ (12)² = 3 * PB
→ PB = 144/3
→ PB = 48 cm .
therefore,
→ PB + PD = 48 + 36 = 84 cm (Ans.)
